Number of transactions from debit cards for domestic payments Netherlands 2005-2017

The data displays the total number of transactions from debit cards for domestic payments in the Netherlands from 2005 to 2017 (in thousands). In 2017, approx. 3.8 billion transactions were made in the Netherlands from debit cards for domestic payments. According to the Dutch Central Bank (DNB), approx. 55% of all Dutch consumers have a credit card in his or her possession. The use of debit cards, however, is much more accepted as a payment method.
