The data displays the total number of ATM cash withdrawals for domestic payments in the Netherlands from 2005 to 2017 (in thousands). In 2017, approx. 302 million ATM cash withdrawals were made in the Netherlands with the purpose of domestic payments. Between 2005 and 2017, the total number of ATM cash withdrawals decreased from approx. 471 million in 2006 to approx. 302 million in 2016. In the same period, Dutch consumers increasingly paid for their purchases by debit card as the volume of debit card payment transactions increased with every passing year.
