The data describes the biggest European electric utilities in the fiscal year of 2014, based on power sales. Sweden's Vattenfall sold around 200 billion kilowatt hours of electricity that year, while E.ON sold the greatest amount of power at 736 billion kilowatt hours.
In 2016, E.ON's revenue totalled approx. 38 billion euro, significantly lower than in the preceeding years. E.ON's revenue managed to reach 132 billion euro in 2012, declining over each of the following years to 2016. EdF, the company with the second highest volume of power sales, has also seen some volatility in revenue.
