The data displays the renewable energy consumption of the leading renewable energy consuming countries worldwide in 2017. The basis of information is the gross energy production from renewable sources such as geothermal, wind, solar energy, biomass, and waste. Cross-border electricity trade was not taken into account. The conversion was made on the basis of thermal equivalent, for which the conversion of efficiency of a modern thermal power station of 38% was used as a basis. Italy's consumption amounted to around 15.
