The data displays the increase in the number of plug-in government grant eligible cars licensed in the UK between the first quarter of 2010 and the fourth quarter of 2017. Cars which are eligible for government grants are electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The rate of growth of such cars being licensed in the United Kingdom grew rapidly and almost doubled between the second and fourth quarters of 2014. At the end of 2017, 122,217 plug-in grant eligible cars were licensed in the United Kingdom.
