In September 2016 272 diesel-electric hybrid cars were sold in the United Kingdom, a significant decline compared to the 596 sold cars in September 2015. In March 2018, 76 diesel-electric hybrids were sold, a decline of nearly 60% compared to the registration figures of March 2017.
