The data displays the share of responses of a survey on the main cost factors which put people off buying electric cars or vans within Great Britain between March 2013 and February 2014. The main off-putting cost factor for the respondents was the high initial purchase cost of buying an electric car. At 69 percent, recharging costs, including fuel tax, were another key factor in deciding against buying an electric car.
