Eurozone (EU-18) countries: number of credit institutions 2014-2016

The data describes the number of MFI credit institutions (monetary financial institutions) in the countries of the eurozone from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, the number of credit institutions in Germany amounted to 1,600. A lot of the countries reported in this statistic the number of credit institutions has fallen over the time period displayed. The Netherlands has seen the number of credit institutions fall from 177 in 2014 to 51 in 2016.
