The data depicts the total number of employees working in worldwide branches of the British banking group Barclays in 2016 and 2017. It can be seen that approx. 47 thousand people worked for the Barclays group in the UK as of 2017, making this the location with the biggest number of employees. India and South Africa made up the remainder of the top three, with more than 14.1 thousand and 12.9 thousand employees respectively at that time. As can be seen a number of countries saw sharp declines in the number of employees, especially in African nations including South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Ghana, Zambia, Mozambique and Uganda.
