It can be seen that the total value of loan write-offs decreased overall during this period, reaching a value of 928 million GBP as of the fourth quarter of 2017. This was a decrease of nearly 2.3 billion GBP in comparison to the second quarter of 2012, when over 3.2 billion GBP of loan write-offs were recorded by banks and building societies.
