The data displays the leading banks in Europe as of the end of May 2018, by market capitalization (in billion euro). At that time, the British bank and financial services company HSBC Holdings plc was the largest bank in Europe with approx. 194.07 billion euro worth of market capitalization value. Banco Santander from Spain was the second-biggest, with a market value of 86.8 billion euro. HSBC Holding plc also topped the list of banks in Europe for brand value.
