The UK based HSBC topped the list for brand value in both 2017 and 2018 despite decreasing worth of approx. 2.4 billion U.S dollars as of 2018. Second placed Santander (Spain) saw their brand valuation increase from over 15.9 billion U.S dollars to 16.2 billion U.S dollars as of February 2018. A brands value can have a direct correlation between a brands strength and its standing in stock market performance. HSBC not only topped the European banks list in brand value but also in total assets as well as market capitalization.
