The data displays the proportion of primary school students (year 1-7) in Northern Ireland who received at least one class taught in Irish from the academic year 2001/2002 to 2016/2017. After a dramatic increase between 2001/2002 and 2002/2003, the amount of children receiving Irish tuition gradually increased, to 2.3% of all primary students in 2016/2017.
