The data displays the annual growth figures of successful grants of asylum for refugees in Italy from 2008 until 2016. Comparing 2008 to 2016, there has been an overall increase of over 25 thousand refugees successfully qualifying for asylum in Italy. The peak was in 2016 at approx. 35.4 thousand. Since 2008 Italy has accepted a total of 152,255 refugees.
